MODEST REVIEWS: Napoleon Dynamite… The Cartoon. (Jared Hess, 2011) While I respect Jared Hess making a financial play with a network as big as FOX in these rough economic times, I also reserve the right to hate on anyone who sells out as the yin to Mr. Hess’s profitable yang. It’s no news to anyone that FOX and almost everything it touches is essentially the root of all evil. Taking a film I have truly loved for years and boiling it down to caricatures of caricatures and gags of gags is something so par-for-the-course shitty for FOX that my disgust has transformed into depressed apathy. That being said, the network comedic cartoon formula is pretty much impossible to fuck up. Kids will love it, adults will snicker, and we’ll all die just a little inside. 5.5/10.
